Lochcarron of Scotland
The feather bonnets are dyed and manufactured in the UK to the very highest standards. The manufacturer has improved the specification of the standard four and five tail Bonnets. The new Bonnets will be made with more Ostrich feather and will have longer tails. These bonnets will be identical to those that the manufacturer has been commissioned to make for the Royal Regiment of Scotland since 1976.
Manufactured by hand to British Ministry of Defence standards using highest quality materials – ostrich feather, woolen diced bands, all leather strapping and real hat leathers. The ostrich feather is dyed to give maximum wet and light fastness.
Standard dicing colors are red/white, red/black/white or red/navy/white, however other dicing colors is available.
How to measure for a Glengarry, Balmoral or Feather bonnet:
Ideally, you should use a soft tape measure to find the "circumference" of your head. Measure with the tape about an inch above your ears. You want the tape to be as tight as you'd like the hat to fit--measuring with the tape too loose or too tight can result in ordering a size that's too loose or too tight. In a pinch, you could also wrap a piece of string around your head and then measure that length on a tape measure. In either case it's best to have help, so you can get an accurate measurement.
