Glengarry Bonnet Plain Black

$86.00

Description

The Glengarry developed out of the traditional Scottish Bonnet, akin to the Balmoral, Tam o' Shanter or Kilmarnock, but with the significant difference in that it could be folded. In military units, this meant that the bonnet could be carried under the epaulettes when not being worn. Emerging from the Glengarry Fencibles, who cocked their bonnets into a point, the Glengarry in its modern form appeared by the 1840s.

The glengarry comes complete with red toorie (bobble). Cap badges (clan crest badges) can be purchased separately.

Measurements should be taken round the head where the bottom of the hat will sit. See below

How to measure for a Glengarry or Balmoral :
Ideally, you should use a soft tape measure to find the "circumference" of your head. Measure with the tape about an inch above your ears. You want the tape to be as tight as you'd like the hat to fit, measuring with the tape too loose or too tight can result in ordering a size that's too loose or too tight. In a pinch, you could also wrap a piece of string measurement.around your head and then measure that length on a tape measure. In either case it's best to have help, so you can get an accurate measurement.
