Bring on the Whisky (and the Haggis)
Wi’ the turn o’ the year, noo January’s here
An’ I’m lookin’ forward tae ma haggis;
I havenae long tae wait
‘Til the meal is on ma plate,
An’ I’m sippin’ single malt wi’ ma haggis!
O the 25th’s the day, an’ it’s comin’ as it may
When man tae man will brithers be for a’ this
An’ wi’ kail an’ neaps tae spare
We’ll let everybody share
When we bring on the whisky an’ the haggis!
Tae the memory o’ Burns we will gi’e the toasts in turns
After we’ve addressed the sonsie haggis;
But first we’ll hae the saumun
An’ cockaleek’ an’ a’ man,
Then it’s time for the whisky an’ the haggis.
O the 25th’s the day, an’ it’s comin’ as it may
When man tae man will brithers be for a’ this
An’ wi’ kail an’ neaps tae spare
We’ll let everybody share
When we bring on the whisky an’ the haggis!
The nicht draws tae a close
An’ hame the comp’ny goes
Tae dream o’ fun an’ friends an’ jokes an’ haggis;
An’ for memories like this
Full o’ joy an’ happiness,
God bless ma glass o’ whisky and ma haggis!
(twice)
O the 25th’s the day, an’ it’s comin’ as it may
When man tae man will brithers be for a’ this
An’ wi’ kail an’ neaps tae spare
We’ll let everybody share
When we bring on the whisky an’ the haggis!
