The Black Watch Modern Selkirk Tweed is a heavyweight fabric which is a blue and olive green based tartan with black overcheck. New for 2023, the Selkirk Tweed™ is made from 100% pure new wool and, 52% of the wool is of British origin. The Selkirk Tweed™ stock range comprises of nine classic tartans interpreted to reflect our natural environment and have been woven with a kilting selvedge. This quality is based on our premium Strome™ and is a beautiful addition to our stocked tartans.
This fabric can be made into kilts, jackets, clothing, soft furnishings, upholstery or even craft projects. It is made using 100% pure new wool at the Lochcarron mill in Selkirk, Scotland.
This tartan bears the name of the famous 42nd Royal Highland Regiment (The Black Watch), the premier Highland Regiment. First raised in 1729, as four Independent Companies of Highlanders.
